Pocket Pool Series
This series of work was based on the wonder and beauty found when you gaze into a leaf covered pocket pool in the forest or look closely at all the life and beautiful tapestry of colours in a coastal rock pool. These earlier works were my first move away from the square canvas on a journey of creating more organic shapes replicating the destination where the inspiration was found The piece have a 3D element to their presentation and tactile quality which draws the viewer in.

Working with Collagraph printing and collage, I created intricate textures and forms in my work using foraged materials from the coast and forest. Seaweeds and plants washed up on shore or on the forest floor in Autumn and Winter and a variety of found, plastics have also been recycled, melted down and re-used in my plates to create the effect of ripples and plant life in the water. The plates were then printed onto paper with collaged papers behind the print; A Japanese technique known as Chine Colle.
